Job Description :
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for directing the financial affairs of Federal and State awards which include: grant accounting, allocations of shared costs, grant reporting, budget development, implementation, modifications and compliance with Uniform Administrative Requirements and contract terms and conditions. He/She is responsible for monitoring cash flow to ensure sufficient cash on hand to cover payroll, benefits and vendor invoices. Perform tasks such as balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, ensuring all month-end and year end accrual are posted to the general ledger, issuance of the monthly financial statement and preparation of fiscal reports to the funding source. Responsible for working with funding source monitors during periodic monitoring reviews.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

1. Responsible for the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly reporting to the funding source to ensure compliance with federal regulations. 

2. Verify and post all transactions that are properly documented based on accounting standards and government regulations. 

3. Responsible for Accounts Payable, issuing of checks, corresponding with vendors and administrative staff. 

4. Responsible for bank and cash reconciliation 

5. Responsible for performing balance sheet and statement of activities account reconciliation. 6. Providing year-end audit schedules to support the work of the independent accountants.

7. Maintains the SAGE MIP’s fund accounting vendor files for accuracy such as payment terms, vendor contract information, etc.

8. Other job related duties assigned by the Controller.
Required Qualifications :
 QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor or AA degree in Accounting from a business school or community college. 

  • Possess a minimum of 2 years experience as either a bookkeeper or accounting clerk in a fund accounting. 

  • Possess knowledge of principles for Non-Profit Accounting and familiarity with the reporting requirements for federal and state grants. 

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
