Job Description :

Senior Business Systems Analyst needed for financial services firm in San Fernando Valley - up to 4 days remote/wk after initial period.

You will work closely with Executive Management, IT and Operations teams to design, develop, administer and project manage business applications across all business operations.


The firm uses a cloud-based enterprise application to manage their business and resources. In your role you will focus on getting maximum value from this technology investment. You will manage vendor relationship and help develop various user and partner portals with internal integrations and external interfaces. 


Additionally you will interact closely with the technical team and consultants who focus on applications, networking and IT security for the company. 


Experience working for a large organization and with the Insurance industry is nice to have. as you will help mature the IT environment to increase ROI and delivery. Exposure to many facets of IT would be preferred, including BSA/BA/PM responsibilities, reporting/analytics, compliance, application selection and support, networking, storage, etc.


Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for day-to-day activities and successful completion of projects. 

  • Become an expert on relevant business systems, tools, and operational requirements.

  • Work closely with Executive Management and IT to ensure optimal operations of all business-related software solutions and effectiveness of services. This may include assisting with business solutions such as Windows Active Directory, File storage and databases, CRM, ERP, Document Imaging, backups, SEPM and associated operating systems and infrastructure.

  • Provide business/analytics deliverables including documentation, reports, training, and support materials, system enhancement specifications, and system resolution steps by gathering information from Vendors, Project Teams, and Executive Management.

  • Technical support and liaison between Business Users, CIO, IT Technician, external support & application vendors, and clients.

  • Analyze reported issues and drive to resolution, noting if training or development are needed.

  • Prepares status reports for on‐going team projects and operational support requests.

  • Develops internal documentation to support new features and procedures for software  enhancements, such as software release notes and training materials.

  • Documents and communicates requirements or system specifications with internal and external teams.

  • Documents and communicates with internal and external teams regarding issue resolution notes and steps to duplicate reported bugs/issues.

  • Works closely with Executive Management on company website updates and ongoing improvements for usability and functionality.

  • Assists in the selection, implementation, integration and maintenance of packaged and custom software business solutions.


Required Qualifications :
 Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent direct experience, in addition to 5+ years of relevant experience including information technology and business analysis work

  • Demonstrated past experience in a problem-solving and project management role with a working knowledge of Insurance systems and IT requirements

  • Must be independent and capable of tracking assignments to completion, including those of vendors and project teams

  • Detail-oriented and highly analytical, creating the highest quality of work and providing key systems deliverables and data

  • Problem-solver and highly adaptable to shifting priorities

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Team player and confident working with and supporting business teams including senior leadership

  • Technical skillset and easily adapts to new tools

 Technical Experience:

  • MGA and Policy admin system experience (specifically: Vertafore AIM), with experience working with Imaging Systems (i.e., ImageRight) preferred

  • Use of third-party solutions and integration capabilities including various insurance carrier websites as well as rater and quoting partners (i.e., ClarionDoor, DarkMatter). Experience with I-Engineering a plus

  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe. 

  • Experience with Microsoft MS 365 Outlook and Teams

  • Experience with project planning and team collaboration tools a plus
