Deductions Management Specialist

Location : Westlake Village, CA (Onsite)

Compensation : open - 55000-65000

Job Description :

The Deductions Management Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely resolution of customer deductions and disputes. This role is responsible for investigating the reasons behind deductions, working closely with sales and brokers, and ensuring that any discrepancies are resolved in a manner that is both efficient and in line with company policies.




Responsibilities:



  • Researches short pays, determines the support needed to process and/or clear the short pay, and validate when the short pay is authorized

  • Follows procedures and policies relative to short pay processing/resolution

  • Serves as primary conduit of communication with customers and/or brokers and sales team; works with sales and broker network to reduce the number and frequency of unauthorized short pays

  • Assist with the resolution and analysis of unauthorized short pays as needed

  • Facilitate broker/customer-related TPM (trade promotion management) inquires related to short pays

  • Oversees reconciliation of credit memos and unapplied cash

  • Provides open short pay reports/analysis as needed

  • Ensures proper cash application policies and procedures are being followed

  • Reconcile any cash application issues caused by the cash preprocessor

  • Acts as backup and is cross trained with other Deductions Management Specialists, Collections Specialists and Sr A/R Analyst

  • Other duties as assigned




Required Qualifications :

Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

  • 5+ years accounts receivable, deductions management, or related experience

  • Accounting, collections, deductions, customer service background

  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills

  • SAP or similar ERP system experience strongly preferred

  • Passionate about a purpose driven career

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-starter, able to work independently

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask

  • Proactive and results oriented
