Controller
The basic function of the Controller is to provide financial planning and control to meet growth and profitability objectives. This includes Responsible for G/L through monthly financial close, monthly financial statement preparation and variance analysis, including budgets, forecasts, and costing analysis. Hands-on supervision of all accounting matters, including Collections, and Vendor and Contract Term Negotiations. The Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of activities within the Accounting department.
The Controller reports to: the CFO
The following positions report directly to the Controller: Sr Accountant, AP Specialist, AR Specialist
Leadership / Management
- Work as a team with all personnel to achieve company goals.
- Promotes self and company through positive professional image.
- Monitor performance of all reporting personnel.
- Identify improvements and modifications to departmental procedures.
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to manage and reduce manufacturing costs
- Manage GPO and Distribution partner rebates
- Perform any other duties as assigned by a supervisor.
- Coordinate training and/or train direct reports as needed.
Accounting Operations
- Maintain the office in a clean and organized manner.
- Develop, analyze, and review corporate budget vs actuals.
- Manage all payments and deposit into the bank.
- Create and maintain accounting forms, procedures, and policies.
- Review customer credit alerts, inform staff, and post the list.
- Print/Create and distribute monthly financial statements.
- Prepare and post payroll journal entries.
- Prepare and file sales and property tax reports as needed.
- Create report of forecasted collections.
- Maintain Cash Flow Forecast and determine payments to be made.
- Maintain corporate accounts and credit cards used by staff members.
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
- Oversee all Accounting activities.
- Perform all duties of reporting personnel as needed.
Administration / HR
- Interview potential candidates for positions within the accounting department.
- Ensure that department personnel are arriving to work on time and prepared to work.
- Arrive at work on time and prepared to work.
- Monitor company overtime costs.
- Perform any other administrative duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have 7-10 years general accounting experience for a manufacturing operation.
- Experience in medical device business, with related distribution, rebates, GPO contracts preferred
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
- CPA Preferred
- Must have Epicor ERP Software experience
- Ability to effectively communicate with all customers and staff members within the company.
- Ability to manage a staff to perform all required tasks while minimizing errors.
- Ability to document procedures as needed.
- Ability to follow company procedures and policies.
