Job Description :

Successful large law firm in Century City is seeking a full-time Accountant. Candidate must have solid communication, technology, analytical and management skills. Candidates should possess knowledge of all aspects of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The role requires at least four years of relevant experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Candidates who have a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA), certified management accountant (CMA) or chartered global management accountant (CGMA) a plus. Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued.

Required Qualifications :

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions

· Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results

· Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements

· Managing the budget process

· Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes

· Oversight of our external accounting partner; A/R and A/P functions

· Oversight of receivables and payables relating to our Client Trust Account

· Evaluating accounting and internal control systems

· Developing and monitoring business performance metrics

· Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

· Develop or expand reconciliation processes for accounts missing proper documentation

· Review banking relationship and connections, and implement best practices to link bank to ERP

· Develop or enhance accounting architecture and process to capture department and cost centers

· Evaluate ERP reporting and determine if ERP has capability for reporting or use of an add on reporting package

· Develop monthly Budget Variance Analysis and meetings with Department heads to review expenditures



· Ability to multitask on numerous assignments and deadlines simultaneously

· Ability to prioritize assignments and meet firm deadlines, pay close attention to detail, maintain accuracy. Have a high degree of self-accountability and ownership relating to assignments and initiatives.

· Ability to use time efficiently with minimal supervision

· Ability to perform in a fast paced, demanding and ever-changing environment, while successfully adapting to changing priorities and work demands

· Ability to interact and communicate with executives, attorneys, staff, and clients

· Exceptional computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft, Excel, QuickBooks


License/Certification and Preferred Experience:

· (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant, a plus

· (CPA) Certified Management Accountant, a plus

· (CMA) or Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA,) a plus

· 4+ years of prior experience
