POSITION TITLE: Payroll Benefits Administrator

Payroll Duties Process payroll for operations and corporate team members Audit and review bi-weekly payroll reports to ensure accuracy prior to submission to third party payroll processor Become in-house expert on third party processor system Ensure the exceptional accuracy and timeliness of regular and ad-hoc payroll checks Reviews in depth employee timecards and personal details to make sure the information is correct and consistent with actual hours worked by each employee Ensure employee changes, terminations and hires are completed per the payroll calendar or as required by law Prepare and run reports from the payroll database as requested Processes Final Checks and coordinates delivery for check/s to arrive by notified deadline. Run paid-time off reports and ensure proper accrual of vacation accruals Address employee's pay-related concerns and provide accurate payroll information. Assist accounting manager in calculating monthly payroll accrual Ensure state and federal taxes, including quarter and year-end reconciliations and gross to net calculations are balanced and accurate. Verify all pre and post-tax deductions for accuracy Ensure HIPAA compliance at all times Data entry of garnishment payments, tax levies or other court ordered withholdingsBenefits Duties Confirms accurate deductions based on employee selections each payroll and on final check. Maintains close communication with Benefit Providers and Broker on plan changes Communicates employee benefit eligibility Maintains employee benefit records on payroll system Resident expert on payroll/benefit third party system Works with location administrative assistants in addressing employee concerns/questions (e.g. benefit cards) Follows-up with employees to ensure timely benefit enrollment Maintains informed on employee benefit selection changes. Manually processes adjustments as required. Identifies total benefit year differences bi-weekly. Adjusts as necessary. Directs write-off requirements to Manager and carrier site discrepancies to HR. Identifies and follows up on billing discrepancies. PPACA ensures Part-Time employees are measured and validates accuracy of average hours worked. Notifies HR upon PPACA-FT qualification. Maintains log of encountered system problems, manual calculation, reason for lateness in processing and description of action taken. Informs Benefits Administrator in the event of a process failure and follows through to an enrollment or waiver. Works closely with IT and HR in resolving any issues ACA Reporting Validates accuracy of annual 1094C and 1095C reports. Submits timely filings to CTS.Requirements B.S. in Accounting (preferred) Minimum 3-4 years of recent payroll/benefits experience in similar role Experience in processing payroll for at least 1,000 employees Experience with third-party processors (e.g. Ceridian, ADP) Ability to work under pressure, often in a deadline driven environment and ability to perform several tasks concurrently Willingness to find opportunities for process improvement Must possess excellent critical thinking, problem solving skills and superior attention to detail; Experience in a fast growing roll-up-your-sleeves environment is a plus Proficient in Excel (e.g. vlookups, sumif,pivot tables)Required education: Bachelor'sRequired experience: Payroll Processing for >1000 employees Benefits Administration: 1 year
